 A SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT HANDELING ANIMATION CELS:

    • These are clear, high quality, transparent cels of Acetate which are .005 thick.
    • A tissue is layered between each sheet and protects each Cel in the stack when it ships
    • CELS are thin and will tend to bow or slightly curl. Place them in a cool dry place for storage. Use drafting tape on the edge to keep flat while painting.
    • A reminder that Cels should ALWAYS be handled with lightweight cotton gloves to prevent oil transfer from your hands to the Cel surface.
    • Fingerprints may prevent proper adherence of ink & paint to the Animation Cel surface. 
    •  HANDLE EACH CEL WITH CARE.

TIPS ON PAINTING CELS:
  • Always use a removable tape when painting on cels. Tape your cel down with
  • 3-m drafting tape or low tac tape you can get from any Art Supply
  • or a removeable drafting tape Or a painters tape with low tac Which is easily removed.
  • When paint dries it shrinks and pulls at the surface of the cel which curls it.
  • So you have to tape the cels down when painting
  • Once completed if you are keeping them as framed art , You will matt them and use a Permanente tape to hold them to the matt board.
